I really love this part from Special Parts Takegawa, it just makes the Monkey look a million dollars and gives the engine overall just a better feeling. This special clutch kit also now gives you the ability to have a real oil filter and if you are going to run an oil cooler also the ability to have it start cooling when required by adding a thermostat. Such great thought has gone into designing this part. Installation skill required is medium and you will be needing some special tools which Webike has on offer. Expensive but well worth it.
[How is it used? Clutch is a must for powered-up engines! It was replaced when the car was Bore up more than 100cc.
Was the one you received as per Image? It was just like the image.
Was the installation difficult? It was difficult because there were so many parts and a Special Tool was also needed for installation.
How was your experience with it? The power of the PowerUp Engine is properly transmitted to the wheels.
[Included Parts:were they on? Cover, Clutch edition, Spring, Housing, Gasket… there are too many to write them all down.
[Was there anything that disappointed you? The once thriving MagCover is finally out of business… Material:It is a shame because it was better as a Material than Aluminum, which is more resistant to corrosion.
▼Design is tired of seeing now because it is a standard Engine tuning, and it is GOOD that Thermostat can be installed easily.View Detail
I was able to install the special clutch that I have wanted for a long time. You will need a special tool for installation, but I think it's relatively easy because there are some things you can get cheaply. My impression is that the Crankshaft load is reduced and the Response is better and lighter. (Lightweight Outer changed) I'm satisfied with the look and feel. It tends to stall if you don't rev it higher than usual. I think I did it wrong, but the difficulty was that the Spring protrusion scratched the Cover when I incorporated the Clutch Wire.View Detail
About Quality and Texture:The machining quality is excellent, as expected from Takegawa. The aluminum finish is smooth with clean edges and precise tolerances. The surface treatment gives a premium look that matches well with other Takegawa engine parts and feels durable rather than decorative.About the Feeling of Use:Clutch operation feels smoother and more direct compared to the stock cover. Lever feel is consistent, and cable movement is clean with no binding. It gives a solid mechanical feel that inspires confidence during riding.Products to Buy Together:It pairs well with a slipper clutch, upgraded clutch springs, and clutch plates. Using a new gasket is strongly recommended during installation.Difficulty of Installation:Installation is moderate. Basic engine knowledge and proper torque tools are required. Cable routing needs attention, but overall it’s a straightforward bolt-on for experienced DIY riders.Cost Performance and Comparison with Other Products:More expensive than generic covers, but the fit, finish, and reliability justify the price. Compared to cheaper alternatives, this feels more precise and long-lasting.About Shipping and Packaging:Packaging was secure with proper protection. No damage or missing parts.Concerns, Cautions, or Advice:Check compatibility carefully with your engine model. Torque bolts evenly and follow the manual to avoid oil leaks.Final Thoughts:A high-quality, functional upgrade that delivers both performance and aesthetics. Worth the investment for serious custom or performance builds.View Detail
About quality and texture, I can confirm that the quality is great and that the materials used are a combination of cast aluminum for the crankcase cover, forged aluminum for the clutch access cover and machined aluminum for the oil filter cover.About the feeling of use, I also have experience using the Kitaco clutch cover and overall I find the SP Takegawa clutch cover to be the better option to purchase.Products to buy together, Adding an adjustable clutch lever to your cart to help personalization your clutch setup would be ideal.Difficulty of installation, I can say the fitment of the clutch cover kit for my installation was average, there is special tooling needed and the process of removing the unwanted original Honda parts and installing the new SP Takegawa parts is involved.Cost performance and comparison with other products, The pricing of this product is great when compared to all the other types of clutch cover kits that SP Takegawa offer because you a utilising all the original clutch parts. You receive a complete kit that is made from quality materials with a design ahead of the others .About shipping and packaging My order was shipped within 24 hours of the product being in stock and I received a few emails advising me of the status up until the order was dispatched. The order arrived within the estimated date range and was extremely well packaged. I found the link supplied to track my order very useful while I was waiting for the order to land in the country. Any concerns, cautions, or advice when purchasing, I have no concerns or cautions when purchasing from Webike. I cannot recommend Webike enough for the majority of your biking needs. They not only sell aftermarket parts and bike gear but also OEM parts for your repairs and servicing needs.View Detail

About quality and texture - The wire type special clutch cover kit from SP Takegawa is made from mostly cast aluminium but billet and forged pieces can also be found, the quality from the overall fit and finish is perfect.About the feeling of use - As you can see from the photo, there is a lot going on here and the special clutch cover is involved with quite a bit of it. Very much enjoy all the design and details that have gone into manufacturing this clutch cover and can highly recommend it to anyone looking to swap out their original clutch cover.Products to buy together - With so many addon available for this special clutch cover, my key product to purchase to further increase it's use would be the oil cooler especially when you consider the top end engine kit that has been fitted.Difficulty of installation - The installation of the special clutch cover is a intermediate task that took 1.5 hours to complete. Mechanical aptitude and the use of hand tools and a few special tools is what is required to access the engine internals, remove the centrifugal oil filter, assemble and fit the clutch cover to then finish with a clutch adjustment. Cost performance and comparison with other products - I find the cost of all the products SP Takegawa sell to be on par when compared to what most other companies sell their products for but the special clutch cover is priced higher then its competitor.About shipping and packaging - With there only being a small cost difference between sea freight and EMS for the special clutch cover, I chose EMS for a earlier arrival date. The part was extremely well protected while being covered in bubble wrap and surrounded with air pillows in a sturdy cardboard box.Any concerns, cautions, or advice when purchasing - For my location, purchasing specialty products like this from Webike Japan is the only option. There are a few local stores selling parts for the Grom but the range is very basic.View Detail
Really nice stainless steel exhaust system from Special Parts Takegawa at a great price here on Webike. If you are looking to get rid of the quite Honda OEM exhaust system but still wish to retain the factory look of your Honda Monkey then this is the exhaust system for you. This exhaust gives the little 50cc engine a nice note that you can now hear. Fit and finish of the exhaust is very nice and I do like the fact that if required in the future repacking of the muffler is made simple by the the use of rivets in the end cap. Comes with everything you need for a successful installation.View Detail
I was in the market for a new air filter for the Monkey and decided to give this one from Special Parts Takegawa a try. I have not purchased a part from Special Parts Takegawa that I did not like and this part is no different, it gives that nice intake noise and just looks trick sticking out the side of the frame like that. I will say that I would like to add the water resistant cover that they also sell to suit their pod style air filter. Comes with a breather attachment so you do not need to run an additional breather filter which will save you a few dollars.View Detail
Fits: HONDA monkey (FI)(AB27-1900001 or later), HONDA , HONDA 6V Monkey (Z50J-1300017 or later), HONDA 12V Monkey (Z50J-2000001 or later / AB27-1000001 to 1899999), HONDA 6V Gorilla (Z50J-1300017 or later)
When I picked up this Monkey the Honda OEM rear shock had no life left in them and I did not even waste anytime looking at other brands just went with these rear shocks from Special Parts Takegawa as they are my go to brand for the Monkey and have not disapponited this time either. Simple installation that anyone can do with the basic tools in your garage and I would suggest also remembering to add a little grease to the mounting posts to keep that area rust free. Nice OEM looking rear shocks with a spring rating that is more suitable for an average sized person. View Detail
After some researching into all the different kits available for the Honda Monkey here on Webike I decided to go with this particular kit from Special Parts Takegawa mainly because it tucked nicely out of the way under the luggage rack with the up style exhaust and had the correct breather fitting to work with the clutch cover I have fitted to the engine. Do yourself a favour and also buy some hose a cutter from Webike too so you can have a perfect finish once the installation is complete. An expensive kit but it comes with everything you need and you don not have to spend a dollar more.View Detail
This up style exhaust from Over Racing in my opinion is the best exhaust available for the Honda Monkey with a non standard engine. The full titanium exhaust header and muffler allow for the lightest possible exhaust system. The exhaust note that now comes from this little engine it just beautiful and has to be heard to be understood. The price of this exhaust is high but the quality of the build and materials used reflect this and I just love how once you fit the Honda OEM exhaust shield it all looks very original and does not standout like a sore thumb like some exhausts do on this little bikes.View Detail
